We are VERY proud of our reining Miss Okla Chahta Clan

Sarah De Herrera

Sarah on stage

Sarah was asked by Chief Pyle and Asst Chief Gary Batton to perform the National Anthem in the Choctaw Language

at the 2011 Labor Day Festival. Sarah sang beautifully. As an added note, Sarah taught herself how to sing the national anthem, then

she studied and taught herself the correct Choctaw words for the anthem and how to sing the words to keep the tune of the anthem

What a wonderful example of our youth carrying on the culture - Yakoke Sarah
